Recommendations for the study of Classical Mythology

Wonderful collection of primary sources in translation.  I will use many of these in my mythology classes this year and, in the future, will likely make it required reading.

This is THE gold standard for Classical Mythology coverage.  The text is used for college level courses (it contains portions on ancient sexuality) but, for the parent who wishes to learn mythology and then teach it to his or her learners, this text is just what the autodidact ordered.  Plenty of reliance on ancient texts but still quite readable.

Rick Riorden takes Classical Mythology and places its heroic (and not so heroic) characters on adventures in the modern world.  My kids eat these up so be prepared to get them all.

Recommended way to introduce your younger learners  to Homer, the story of the Trojan War and the Odyssey

Was Heinrich Schliemann the "father" of archaeology or a liar and a crook?  Find out from the one researcher who had read most of the thousands of pages written by Schliemann before, during and after "his" discovery of Troy:
